The Madison Public Library enlightens and enriches the people of Madison County by providing responsive, dynamic services that meet the changing needs of a diverse population. Through a trained, service-oriented staff, community partnerships, and ready access to both print and electronic resources, the library is committed to superior service that promotes a strong, literate community and enhances the quality of life.

Patron Rights & Responsibilities

The Madison Public Library encourages the use of its facilities for reading, study, research. To further this goal, Library patrons are asked to conduct themselves in an orderly and considerate manner. Any behavior that disrupts the orderly use of the Library is prohibited. A violation may result in a patron’s expulsion from the Library, suspension of Library privileges, or criminal prosecution or other legal action, as appropriate.

Circulation Loan periods: 1. Books and audio books: 14 days. 2. Magazines: 7 days. 3. Videos: 7 days. Renewals: 1. All items may be renewed once.

Internet Use

Internet Use

Public access to the Internet is available to all users of the Madison Public Library. The Library is making the Internet available to the public as an informational and educational resource in support of our mission to serve the educational and informational needs of patrons of all ages. The Madison Public Library offers filtered content on our public usage computers, these protections can be removed for adults.

Unsupervised Children

Unsupervised Children

Children six and under must be accompanied at all times by a responsible party. Pre-teens and any child not able to travel alone must be picked up prior to closing.

The library will use the contact information that you provide us only to contact you, we will never sell your information.
